Black Rakes is the 2013-2014 calf of Chompers, CRC-10532, first seen off southern California in July 2014, and stayed with his or her mother through at least January 2015. They were separated by June 2015. (Thank you Alisa for this bio!) This whale is known from research conducted by Cascadia Research Collective and collaborators
