Prop Mom aka Barcode, CRC-12560, got her names from a substantial - but fortunately well healed - propeller scar on her back. She was observed with a calf in 2013. The calf was severely scarred from a killer whale attack and according to naturalist Kate Spencer, died in September 2013. Also mother of 2022-2023 calf of Prop Mom aka Barcode according to Sydney Minges. Prop Mom is known from research conducted by Cascadia Research Collective and collaborators.
