CRC-11824 must have been a yearling whale when first encountered in 2004, judging by how much lighter the fluke was compared to more recent images. Historic sighting information based on Cascadia Research Collective and collaborators, and is known in Mexico to ECOBAC from the photo-identification catalog of humpback whale of Banderas Bay, Mexico (FIBB catalog). Known as male from a biopsy sample collected by PRIMMA 11/17/2022 and analyzed at Dr. Omar Chassin’s lab (UMSNH).
