Freckles (BCY0727) is known from the Marine Education and Research Society Humpback Whale Catalog, first documented in BC waters in 2009 when she appeared just outside Telegraph Cove. She is known to be female from a sighting by MERS of her “hemispherical lobe” when she was tail-lobbing and from observation with a calf. Mother of 2022 calf of Freckles and 2024 calf of Freckles known from observation of mother and calf pair on Aug 17th, 2024 in British Columbia according to Monika Wieland Shields.
