This whale was photographed by citizen scientist Jodi Frediani and others as part of an Antarctic whale science expedition with Dr. Ari Friedlaender, National Geographic and Cheesemans' Ecology Safaris. The whale has been added to the Antarctic Humpback Whale Catalog at Allied Whale, College of the Atlantic, new to science thanks to the collaboration between Happywhale and Allied Whale. The AHWC is an international collaborative database with records of about 7000 individual whales from throughout the Southern Hemisphere spanning three decades.
