Hydra is known to be a female from sightings as mother of 2015 calf of Hydra, 2017 calf of Hydra, 2019 calf of Hydra and 2024 calf of Hydra known from observation of mother and calf pair on Aug 27th, 2024 in British Columbia according to Tomis Filipovic. Her 2019 calf was killed by ship strike 7/2020 according to naturalist Alethea Leddy.
