Pong is named for the scar and line feature on the right fluke. This whale is known from research conducted by Cascadia Research Collective and collaborators. An apparently fresh entanglement scar was seen on the base of Pong's tail in December 2016. She is known as a female from observation with a calf on May 23rd, 2026 in California according to Kate Spencer. Mother of Ping (2025-2026). Also formerly HW-MN0501255
